Zoë Perman, aged 24, was born and raised in Merthyr Tydfil, S.Wales. She first took an interest in singing at the age of 3 where she played 'Mary' in a school Christmas Concert. Since then, she has performed in numerous concerts and competitions and won many awards for her school both with the school choir and also as a soloist.
Zoë has been a member of numerous choirs and societies including 'Four Counties Youth Choir', 'Bath Spa University Choir', Bath Amateur Operatic Society, Ladies Community choir for WNO, Con Voce Choir and WNO Chorus for Beethoven‘s Symphony No 9 and the Mikado.
She has performed in numerous prestigious venues such as St David’s Hall, Llandaff Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Guildhall and the Forum - Bath, Wales Millennium Centre and most recently the Senedd Cardiff Bay. Zoë has been involved in various productions and operas some of which including 'Semele', 'The Magic Flute', 'Into The Woods' where she played the part of Little Red Riding Hood and most recently Monica in Menotti’s ‘The Medium’.
Zoë has performed all around the country as a soloist, performing with WNO, ‘Dowlais Male Voice Choir’, ‘Rolf Harris’ and the ‘National Choir of Wales’ for numerous fund raising events. She has reached the final stages of the Welsh ‘Eisteddfod’, has won plentiful competitions, both representing herself and her schools, and has also won the Stan Thomas scholarship for exceptional musicians. Zoë has most recently won the Cyril Peckett Memorial trophy at the Bath Music Festival competing in the Opera/Operetta class.
Zoë made her debut television performance in 2002 on the BBC 1 Wales music program ‘Tune Team’, where she was head-hunted by the composer John Hardy to sing his masterpiece composition ‘Comradeship and Honour’. This was composed for military band and voice in honour of the only soldier from Merthyr Tydfil to win the Victoria Cross. This appearance was also made into a CD, and was recorded in a ‘Royal Welch Fusiliers’ hanger, where Zoë had performed. Zoë has also had the honour of being asked to sing for the late boxer Jonny Owen’s memorial service, after being seen on the BBC.
Zoë also plays pianoforte, where she had reached Grade 5 ABRSM.
At present, Zoë is a performer for various events and functions, a vocal coach teaching privately from her home, teaches Music to babies and toddlers for a company called ‘Monkey Music’ based in Bridgend and the Vale and teaches singing for 'Fantasy Feet Dance and Performing Arts Academy'.
